Since our mainnet release in September 2018, we’ve been working hard to continue to develop the Kambria Open Innovation Platform. Based on engagement with our community, we’ve identified new features to integrate and made some changes in other areas. Today, we are excited to release the next generation of our open innovation platform and to launch our website, which has been redesigned to highlight the products and services now available through the Kambria Open Innovation Ecosystem! We look forward to working with companies and developers to accelerate innovation in the AI and robotics space. Let’s take a look at what we’ve created.
PLATFORM HIGHLIGHTS
Bounty Platform
Our Bounty page features open and completed bounty challenges. Currently, we have three open bounties for the Vietnam AI Grand Challenge, one for each of the three cities in which in-person hackathons will be held starting June 28th. In total, 187 teams registered through our bounty platform. Once teams have completed registration, they are able to access their profile and free membership resources. They are also able to submit their hackathon project proposals through the site during the event.
The Vietnam AI Grand Challenge is a government-backed initiative organized by Kambria that will bring together Vietnam’s best AI talent and support corporations in Vietnam and globally. Teams will compete for their share of $40,000 in prizes in building the Ultimate AI Virtual Assistant. Team registration is now closed and the next step is for community members to vote for their favorite projects. Four winning teams will advance to the next round -- three teams selected by Grand Challenge judges and one team voted in by the Community. Keep reading for more details on Community Voting.
In the meantime, anyone can track event progress here. Through our Teams page, platform visitors are able to see the list of developer teams registered on our site. This gives participants maximum visibility by allowing others to learn more about team members and their story.
Community Voting
Because community is such an important part of our ecosystem, the Kambria open innovation platform will support centralized community voting for bounty challenges. For the Vietnam AI Grand Challenge, the team with the most community votes will advance to the next round -- in addition to the teams selected by our judges. Over the course or the hackathon, we will share team demo videos, pitching videos, and judges’ reviews with the community. Then, the community can stake their KAT tokens in support of their favorite team(s). Please read this article and watch this video to learn more about how KambriaVote works with staking. The team with the most community votes will participate in the incubation process and will be invited to compete in the Grand Finale on August 15th.
But the perks are not limited to hackathon participants. Community members will also have a chance to participate in another round of voting during the Grand Finale. $5,000 worth of KAT will be split among all community members who vote for the winning project! We want to encourage everyone to take part in the innovation process.
KAT and Karma Distribution
Through our platform, we are able to issue both KAT and Karma. Users who earn KAT rewards -- such as our hackathon winners -- will receive their distributions directly into their account on the Kambria platform. Rewards can then be used to view locked content or be withdrawn to an Ethereum wallet.
In addition, the platform will allow us to issue Karma, a non-tradeable ledger entry awarded to contributors on our platform, to eligible hackathon participants. We will use Karma as a way to track contributions by community members so that we can share revenue made by Kambria International. Hackathon participants who are willing to share their project code will earn Karma, which can be used immediately for services on the platform. Services include membership, access to our Resource Library, and more.
Available Code
Platform users will be able to access several types of code right away. This includes:
- A capsule wallet that allows users to connect their Ethereum wallet to the Kambria platform for seamless usage. To view the source code, click here.
- API for the Ohmni Telepresence Robot
- Code developed by Lehigh University as part of our Global Innovation Fund
- Winning Vietnam AI Grand Challenge hackathon submissions
- ERC-20 KAT to BEP2 KAT bridge for interoperability with Binance Chain (more details below)
- and much more!
There will be plenty of resources for developers seeking a jumpstart to AI and robotics innovation.
Token Perks Holder Program Available
Through our platform, we will soon issue rewards under our Token Perks Holder Program. Backers who signed up for holding incentives will receive Karma at the end of July so stay tuned!
Legal Enforcement
Because a great amount of ideation, technology, capital, and experience will be amassed on the Kambria platform, legal enforcement will be crucial. Right now, anyone can help flag violations by using the contact form and checking the “Submit Violation Case” option. Our team will compile a list of possible violations and then present them to the community to vote on which case(s) to pursue.
Resource Library
One of our favorite additions to the Kambria platform is our Resource Library. By holding KAT, users can access our curated library to read articles, research papers, ebooks, textbooks and videos focused on artificial intelligence. Learn the difference between Machine Learning and Deep Learning, about the Law of Large Numbers in AI, Convolutional Networks, and more. Going forward the Resource Library will contain resources on AI and Robotics topics across a wide range of sectors.
WEBSITE REDESIGN
Alongside our platform enhancements, we’re launching a new website! It now features information about new Open Innovation Ecosystem services we have been developing to create a robust offering for our global community of change-makers.
In addition to our platform, components of our Ecosystem now include a wide range of open innovation services. All services will be managed through the Kambria platform with interactions seamlessly facilitated by the KAT token.
- The Kambria Global Innovation Fund facilitates collaboration between researchers and companies worldwide. Companies interested in making connections with top universities can access the fund to invest in advanced R&D. Researchers can put antiquated grant-writing processes behind and easily connect to much-needed capital.
- The Kambria Open Innovation Hub is a global network of physical R&D labs that provides organizations with world-class solutions to accelerate their AI and robotics innovations.
- Hackathons and K-prize Challenges bring together companies and innovators to create advanced technology solutions through K-prize bounty challenges on our platform and in-person hackathons.
- Kambria eduKATion will offer expert-led courses with cutting-edge training in AI, Robotics, and blockchain development. Kambria partners with top educational providers around the world to educate anyone interested in learning about advanced technology. Learn on-demand or in-person. Online courses coming soon.
Kambria Will Adopt Binance Chain and Apply to Trade on Binance DEX
Earlier this week we announced that Kambria will adopt Binance Chain and apply to trade on Binance DEX. As believers in this decentralization, we feel the Binance DEX feature built on top of Binance Chain is the pinnacle for providing fast and secure liquid trading. Our intention is to offer interoperability of our current ERC-20 tokens with newly minted BEP2 KAT tokens to retain both smart contract functionality, while also providing the tremendous benefits of Binance Chain’s ecosystem.
During and after the migration, our platform will continue to operate as normal. The supply of KAT will never increase and KAT tokenomics will remain the same. Moreover, trading on all of our other partner exchanges will continue as usual. The ERC-20 representation of KAT will not change, and you will still be able to buy or sell your ERC-20 KAT on these exchanges. In the future, if we list on new exchanges, we will opt to list the BEP2 version of the token, if supported.
This is an overwhelmingly positive decision for our project and our community. We are committed to developing a thriving ecosystem and this move to Binance will allow token holders to trade with confidence on the highest liquidity DEX in the world.
We invite you to experience the Kambria open innovation platform and new website for yourself.
