KAMBRIA - We are thrilled to share the key milestones we achieved in 2024 and the important goals we aim to conquer in 2025.
Dear Kambria community,
We are thrilled to share the key milestones we achieved in 2024 and the important goals we aim to conquer in 2025.
2024 Year In Review: Model DAO, Kambria DAOs framework MVP, and Ecosystem building
Model DAO - Tech-powered Elderly Care DAO (TECD) MVP development and experimentation
For new community members: Kambria (https://kambria.io/), an open innovation platform for Deep Tech (AI, Robotics, Blockchain, VR/AR, IoT…) with the mission to shape the future of technology where technology is open and contributes more to society. Our main initiative is Kambria DAOs, a model for the community to co-own technology, where DAO members of a technology solution will decide the development and commercialization of it, and get revenue sharing when the solution is commercialized. - In 2023 we have launched the first 4 Robotics Impact DAOs for Pet Care, Mine Clearing, Ocean Cleanup and Underwater Conservation. - In 2024 we introduced the next 4 Daily-life Impact DAOs of Elderly Care, Home Gardening, Smart Recycle and Tech Learning. |
Last August, the Daily-life Impact DAOs Info Session 2024 took place with introductions and sharing between Kambria and other projects in the fields. You can find the Event recap here.
Among these DAOs, the Tech-powered Elderly Care DAO is our Model DAO to showcase Kambria's efforts in building infrastructure for Kambria DAOs. Besides, in this Model DAO, Kambria also plays the role of Dev Partner as a demonstration, and leads the commercialization of Vietnam DAO Hub.
After 7 months from Feb to Aug 2024 for TECD MVP development and experimentation, last November, the Launch event of this DAO featured the solution proposal presentation from Dev team and Q&A with the Judge Committee. The challenging yet constructive questions have provided valuable insights to help refine the TECD solution and business model, and the Kambria DAOs framework. Please read the Event recap here, and follow our social channels for further information.
Kambria DAOs framework MVP
In 2024, we complete the MVP of Kambria DAOs framework, with smart contracts to tailor the design of Kambria DAOs model.
Our main progress this year has been developing smart contracts to track DAO product and service sales revenue, while also facilitating revenue sharing and payments to DAO partners and members. Smart contracts play a pivotal role in streamlining revenue sharing within DAOs, fostering transparency and trust among stakeholders.
Ecosystem building
Open Innovation Hubs is one of our initiatives to foster a global network to accelerate open innovation all around the world. On Kambria journey, we are grateful to have chances to connect with many inspiring projects and teams, so we came up with the idea to call for the community to come together in the Social Impact Innovation Alliance (SIIA) - the joined forces of visionary projects and organizations dedicated to harnessing the power of innovation for positive social change.
At the time of SIIA Launch last April, the Alliance began with 18 Member Projects from various sectors including Green initiatives, Education, Healthcare, Technology. The Launch event featured 3 key activities of the Alliance: Social Impact Showcases, Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices, and Collaboration Ideas (recap here).
After that, we introduced a new activity for the Alliance in the SIIA New Member Initiation Event series: the interactive Roundtable sessions that brought together Impact Innovators and Impact Supporters working in similar fields across different countries. This format proved to be highly engaging and effective in expanding the Alliance's network. As a result, 19 new Member Projects joined the Alliance through the first New Member Initiation Event (recap).
2025 Roadmap: TECD commercialization and community joining, 2nd Model DAO, Kambria DAOs framework 1.0, and Kambria token plan
Model DAO - Tech-powered Elderly Care DAO (TECD) commercialization and community joining
As shared in the TECD Launch event, from September 2024 to May 2025, Kambria, in the role of Dev Partner for this Model DAO, has been continuing to complete the solution for the 1st product cycle.
Simultaneously, we have been implementing go-to-market strategies for the Vietnam DAO Hub, aiming to identify successful strategies that can be adapted for other DAO Hubs globally.
In 2025, we plan to onboard and collaborate with a partner to establish the India DAO Hub, followed by expansion into other developing countries where English is widely spoken, such as Nigeria, the Philippines, Kenya, and Pakistan.
If you are interested in becoming a member of this DAO — to earn revenue sharing, gain access to the solution’s codebase, or join the DAO Council to participate in decision-making — stay tuned for the fundraising campaign (LP Token Sale) opening in February 2025. At that time, the DAO and its smart contracts will also be ready for the community to explore.
Expanding to the 2nd Model DAO - Capacity Exchange DAO (CED)
While developing the TECD solution, we realize that its connection model can be extended to various domains and wider target audiences, as a platform for people around the world to exchange skills, knowledge and experience. In this platform, you can be a Service Provider in one session and Service User in another session.
Various domains can be but not limited to:
- Personal development
- Educational & Academic support
- Business & Professional connections
- Creative collaboration
- Social & Cultural exchange
- Social impact & Volunteering
- Technology & Digital literacy
- Hobbies, Crafts, and Culinary arts
- Mind sports, Strategies and Cognitive development
- Psychology, Mental health and Spiritual
More details will be shared in the upcoming Capacity Exchange DAO Announcement.
Kambria DAOs framework 1.0
In 2025, we will continue refining and expanding the Kambria DAOs framework with the following developments:
- Expanded currency options: Add ETH, BSC, and PAXG to the DAOs’ fund currencies, alongside KAT and USDT, enabling diversification and risk hedging through strategic allocations.
- On-ramps & off-ramps integration:
- Recognizing that many target customers and partners may lack familiarity with cryptocurrency, our goal is to simplify transactions:
- Customers will be able to purchase DAOs’ products and services using fiat, which will be automatically converted to crypto and sent to the DAO fund address.
- DAOs can compensate partners with crypto, which can be seamlessly converted to fiat.
- We have explored third-party solutions such as Transfi and Banxa, and are particularly interested in MetaMask’s emerging capabilities in this area. Integration with MetaMask is planned to enhance user accessibility and ease of use.
- Recognizing that many target customers and partners may lack familiarity with cryptocurrency, our goal is to simplify transactions:
- Smart contract implementation: Develop and deploy Codebase smart contracts as outlined in the concept note here.
- User Interface (UI) development: Design and implement a user-friendly interface for Kambria DAOs on the Kambria platform, improving accessibility for members and partners of the DAOs.
Scalability and plans for Kambria token
Discussions with potential investors have provided valuable insights and guidance on the scalability of Kambria DAOs and the strategic direction for the Kambria token in 2025 and beyond:
- 2025 plan:
- Layer 2 integration: we plan to integrate Polygon into the Kambria token ecosystem in 2025, enhancing scalability and reducing transaction costs.
- Long-term approaches under consideration:
- Adoption of Sharding: As blockchains like Ethereum 2.0 implement sharding, the scalability issue will ease with enhanced throughput and lower congestion risks.
- Custom sidechain development: Exploring the creation of a custom sidechain, potentially after successfully commercializing one or two DAOs.
- Decentralized rollout of services:
- Begin by launching services on a single blockchain, gradually expanding to multi-chain support to reduce initial strain.
- Currently, Kambria DAOs utilize XDAO, a third-party platform for DAO building and management, where each DAO operates on a single chain.
- Multi-chain support and self-built DAO infrastructure are future possibilities as Kambria DAOs mature and scale.
Building the Model DAOs and actively participating as DAO Partners allows us to experience the framework firsthand, providing valuable insights from multiple perspectives. This approach enables us to refine the Kambria DAOs framework while showcasing our concept and vision more effectively.
It's like building a city, starting with a few model houses to showcase the possibilities. We warmly invite the community to explore these foundations and join us on this transformative journey.
