VIETNAM AI GRAND CHALLENGE INFO SEMINARS: AI is NOW!
In cooperation with its partners, Kambria kicked off the Vietnam AI Grand Challenge last week with a three-part series of informational seminars titled “AI IS NOW!” Seminars took place in Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and Hanoi with sold-out crowds. Over 1,100 people attended our seminars to learn about the increasing importance of AI in the Vietnamese tech ecosystem and around the world.

GIF Lehigh University Research Update — Facial Recognition Integration
Lehigh students have made tremendous progress as Global Innovation Fund participants. The Global Innovation Fund aims to change the antiquated grant application process and make R&D investment cross-border, scalable, and radically more efficient. Through the Fund, Kambria will leverage its academic and corporate networks to globally connect researchers looking for funding with companies seeking advanced technology resources.
Last month students integrated voice commands and now they have added real-time face detection and recognition to the Ohmni robot’s capabilities. Read our full post to learn more.
IDEAS Partnership
Kambria recently announced that we will co-host the 2019 Southern California AI & Data Science Conference with the International Data Engineering and Science Association (IDEAS) in Los Angeles, California on October 26th and 27th. The conference will focus on hot topics in AI, machine learning, data science, and blockchain. We are thrilled to work again with IDEAS in on this event which attracts over 3,000 attendees.

Real World Applications of AI Virtual Assistants
In support of the Vietnam AI Grand Challenge, Kambria is creating a series of educational articles about AI, robotics, hackathons, Dapp building, and more! Here's a great overview of the AI Virtual Assistants, devices that model human interaction to perform multiple tasks. Google Assistant, Microsoft’s Cortana, Apple Siri, and Amazon Echo are widely known. But there are other incredible real-world applications across industries such as education, healthcare, home care, and self-driving cars gaining ground due to the growing trends of outsourced assistance, a mobile workforce, and placing importance on customer engagement.
